Fascinating, I had no idea about how Argan oil was made . Love the pray with words through this post with scapegoat being my favorite . :)

Good read and certainly eye opening. Argan oil in after all the GOAT in oils so it all adds up.

Also took me back to a childhood memory of seeing the Arabian onyx ( local goats with long pointed horns ) precariously perched high atop the dry mountainside looking for vegetation

Thanks, Neha! Is this in Kuwait or in India? In Melkote, I have a video of the goats even having a horn fight on the precipice;)

Intriguing!! We’re trying to figure out how ‘fairly’ the goats are truly treated by the fathers as far as being in the trees. Sounds mixed/complex :)

Yes, indeed! The jury is out there, honestly. We personally saw nothing egregious and Hussain, who was interviewed for this piece loves his goats. Note, some goat farmers sell their goats in the market for meat, so they are killed. There's that. There are animal rights activists up in arms against making goats stand on trees, and if you google, you'll come across those stories. Compared to the goats of Melkote in India, these goats might have it better:)

Overall, the situation is complex--depends on your perception of the reality--if the farmers face dire poverty and starvation and send their goats up on a tree for a few extra hours--either to collect more poop or pose for tourists for a few extra bucks to support his family, who are we to judge? Life is imperfectly perfect:)

Good points. Fair. Although I think I spiritually side with the animals! 😳

Then we are doomed to feel bad forever, aren’t we?:) I am speaking as a vegetarian by birth and I am sort of non judgmentally in that space.

Incidentally, it makes me think of our Jain neighbors the other day were very distressed that our neighborhood park was closed for deer 🦌 killings to control the population.

The older we get the more we realize that while life is ☀️, it’s increasingly shades of gray.
