Thanks, Karthik! I too hope the crows come home to Amma:) The building needs a facelift but I have so many memories there, it’ll be tough to not see it there anymore!
Birds have been a constant theme in a lot of my writing lately, and it’s great to see how they pop up in others’ writing. It’s probably so comforting for your Mom to see your Dad symbolized by the crow. I don’t know what her thoughts are but I can see how the idea that he is still here, visiting often, can help with grief. Well- written, Anu!
Thanks you, C.L. Crowd have indeed captivated the imaginations of many mythologies and histories and within the Indian mythological and religious realm, several interpretations exist! Crows are plenty in India and even I found them annoying especially with these constant visits to my home:) But as we age, we have a different perspective for sure…and I enjoy my banter with mom about our crow 🐦⬛ figures;)
Thank you, Priya! I too see it with a mix indulgence and irritation and concern over cleanliness all rolled into one—imperfectly perfect:) Ammas are the best, no matter what. I am so behind everything, I need to read your avian stories on my long flight! I hope you are well.
Hi Anu.....just enjoyed reading the kaaw story....hahaha....keep up the good work. l like the way you create humour in a very simple story....
Laughter is the best medicine:) Thank you, Poorvi!
True....waiting .to laugh with my Donald....hey next time you can write on him...
What a charming tale! I was smiling throughout those interactions. I cannot wait to read what happens during this trip.
It is sad that the city is losing yet another old building. And I hope the crows find their way to your Amma next door.
